The Order of the Gavel is an honor society encompassing twenty-eight undergraduate and graduate student members representing major student organizations at Virginia Tech. The purpose of the Order of the Gavel is to promote student leadership development during and after the university life of its members; to promote the intellectual and personal growth of its members and general student body; to work with students, faculty, staff, and alumni to develop internal and external relationships that promote positive leadership development; to assist in the development of student leadership programs and opportunities through the Leadership Education Collaborative and the Division of Student Affairs; to serve in an advisory capacity to the vice president for student affairs.
