Virginia Tech is a "Call to Serve" campus and is committed to educate Virginia Tech students regarding their career and workplace options with the Federal Government. During this series of five interactive seminars you will learn first hand what opportunities are available with the Federal Government and the ten steps to applying for a Federal job, which inlcudes preparing a federal job search resume.

Seminar 1: During this seminar you will explore the first three steps toward securing a Federal Job: Networking, Finding Your Agency, and Types of Internships. Also you will learn about the many different agencies there are in the federal government and how to attain a job with them.

Seminar 2: Attend this seminar and gain a deeper understanding of Federal Jobs and learn how to navigate through USAJobs to find the internship or job that captures your interest.

Seminar 3: Federal Resume writing is very different from a private sector resume. Attend this seminar and learn how to write a federal resume that accurately markets your skills and experiences.

Seminar 4: KSAs...What are those? Cover Letters...we need this too? Come explore the world of writing about YOU. This seminar will teach you how to write Knowledge Skill and Ability (KSA) responses and how to compose effective cover letters, two critical components to the application process.

Seminar 5: This last seminar will encompass the final three steps toward securing a federal job position: Applying, Tracking + Following Up, and Interviewing. By the end of this seminar you should be well on your way towards finding and applying for the federal position you desire.
