School of Performing Arts Director Finalists Presentation - Paul Steger (Academic)
The School of Performing Arts presents Paul Steger, the second of three finalists for the position of Director of the School of Performing Arts.
Steger is a tenured Professor in the Johnny Caron School of Theatre and Film at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where he recently completed an 11-year term as the inaugural Director of the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film.
During his tenure as the inaugural Director of the Carson School, he developed and guided the Carson School through multiple strategic plans, academic program reviews, reaccreditation, a $5.3 million renovation and addition to existing facilities, and the acquisition of a $20 million donation as part of an overall $57 million investment by the University to create the Carson Center for Emerging Media Arts.
Steger has appeared across North America, Europe, and Scandinavia as a performer, director, speaker, and consultant, coordinating efforts to create common vocabularies for world stage combat organizations and fight teachers at the international level. He is a member of Actors Equity Association, the Screen Actors Guild, and the National Theatre Conference among others.
