Pack up and deliver surplus food recovered from Dining Services to our community partner and local hunger relief agency, Radford-Fairlawn Daily Bread. Transportation will be provided by VT Engage.

Meeting place: all registered volunteers will meet their shift leader in the VT Engage office (New Hall West suite 110) at the front desk by 8am.

Please note: you may need to carry heavy bags (up to 50 lbs.) and enter walk-in coolers to retrieve food. Please wear warm clothing and closed-toe shoes.


The Campus Kitchen at Virginia Tech is a a VT Engage program that combats food waste and hunger by redistributing surplus food from dining halls to area food agencies. VT Engage is a service learning and civic engagement center in the Division of Student Affairs.
