Warfield Moose, Jr. Presents "Ben Black Elks Speaks"
(Special Event)

In 1931, Ben Black Elk acted as a translator for his father, holy man Nicholas Black Elk, during the interviews by John Neihardt which resulted in the book "Black Elks Speaks" - one of the most well known and influential books on Lakota religion, and credited by many for sparking a cultural revival among Native Americans as well as bring Lakota spiritual traditions to the attention of the world. In the years after this pivotal meeting, Ben Black Elk continued to share his father's vision and wisdom by teaching traditional knowledge and stories in Lakota classrooms.
