New Graduate Student Orientation

The Virginia Tech Graduate School kicks off the Spring Semester by hosting a New Graduate Student Orientation at the Northern Virginia Center on Saturday, January 18. Karen P. DePauw, vice president and dean for Graduate Education, will welcome the new students to Virginia Tech in the National Capital Region and Kenneth H. Wong, associate dean of the Graduate School and director of the Northern Virginia Center, will offer valuable guidance to the new students on everything from attending their first classes through Commencement. Debbie Cash, library coordinator, will explain the vast resources available to support graduate research. Other presenters will discuss the Graduate Student Assembly, Information Services, parking, transit, academic policies, and other practical matters. International students will attend a special presentation by Bronwen Watts, an immigration specialist for graduate students in the region. The orientation also provides a great opportunity for students from all disciplines to meet and network with each other. More information...
