Musica Viva presents a program dedicated to the glorious works composed by the virtuoso Italian violinist Antonio Vivaldi. During his tenure in Venice this prolific composer presented hundreds of concerti for soloists and chamber orchestra, and his music is still very popular today. Soloists will be Benedict Goodfriend (Kandinsky Trio), Janet Orenstein (North Carolina School of the Arts), David Ehrlich (Center for the Arts at VT) and Benjamin Wyatt (RMA). Orchestra musicians are from Virginia and North Carolina.
Most of the Vivaldi concerti presented are new to our audience. On top of it there will be three short beautiful works by other composers
