  Urban Design Seminar Series: Conversations on the Public Realm in the DC Region  
(Greater Washington DC Metro Area)

The School of Public and International Affairs (SPIA) and the Washington - Alexandria Architecture Center (WAAC) are sponsoring an interdisciplinary seminar series during Spring semester. The series will feature Conversations on the Public Realm in the D.C. Region.

The first seminar is "African American Heritage: How Is It Represented in the Public Realm and How Does It Affect Planning and Development in the DC Region?

Panelists include Audrey Davis, acting director, Alexandria Black History Museum; Nikki Graves Henderson, director, Tinner Hill Heritage Foundation; and Jane Freundel Levey, director of Heritage and Community Programs, Cultural Tourism DC.

Elizabeth Morton, professor of practice, Urban Affairs and Planning, will moderate.

Derek Hyra, associate professor, Urban Affairs and Planning; and Matt Dull, associate professor, Center for Public Administration and Policy, will serve as rapporteurs.

Additional seminars will be held throughout the spring semester.
