One question effective instructors ask themselves is: What motivates students? One purpose of this session is to explain motivation science to help instructors understand factors that motivate students in college courses. Another question good instructors ask is: How can I apply what I know about motivation to develop practical strategies to promote students? motivation and learning? Another purpose of this session is to help instructors connect motivation research to practical teaching strategies by considering changes they can make in courses to increase student motivation and learning.
