Urban Design Seminar Series: Conversations on the Public Realm in the DC Region
(Greater Washington DC Metro Area)
Susan Piedmont-Palladino, professor of architecture, will present "4 Blocks: Lessons in an Urban Campus," in which she takes a close look at the four blocks that have been impressed/drafted into the Washington-Alexandria Architecture Center (WAAC) campus and what this new occupation of an old territory can reveal about streets, typology, architecture, function, socio-economics, and other interesting urban sociological phenomenon such as the "familiar stranger."
Piedmont-Palladino's presentation is part of an interdisciplinary Urban Design Seminar Series, Conversations on the Public Realm in the D.C. Region.
There will be an opportunity for questions and answers and light refreshments will be served following the event.
The Urban Design Seminar Series is sponsored by the School of Public and International Affairs (SPIA) and the Washington-Alexandria Architecture Center (WAAC). More information...
