Graduate students enrolled in a studio in the Virginia Tech Urban Affairs and Planning program have conducted a four month study to examine community and economic development opportunities related to the 11th Street Bridge Park in Washington, D.C.

During a presentation for their client, Building Bridges Across the River at THEARC (Town Hall Education Arts Recreation Campus), the students will discuss how related projects in Ward 8 might be leveraged for increased economic opportunities on and near the park; how nearby small businesses and artists can create synergies as the park develops; and some creative ideas to maintain and operate the park in the future.
