American Red Cross Emergency Shelter Training
(Special Event)
The American Red Cross, in partnership with the Virginia Tech Office of Emergency Management, is offering Shelter Fundamentals, a FREE training session for volunteers who are interested in working in an emergency shelter. This class prepares volunteers to assist in setting up a shelter; greet and welcome shelter residents; receive and set up materials and food for residents; and manage the general operations of the shelter while meeting the needs of its residents.

Please note: The American Red Cross has reorganized their training and now only offers Shelter Fundamentals instead of two separate classes on Basic Shelter and Advanced Shelter.
