Computer Science Seminar -- The Three P's of High-Performance Recongfigurable Computing
(Greater Washington DC Metro Area)
Esam El-Araby, assistant professor, Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Catholic University of America, will present "The Three P's of High-Performance Recongfigurable Computing."
El-Araby will present the historical evolution of High-Performance Reconfigurable Computers (HPC) systems, tools, and applications and solutions from his current and past research that challenge the three P's of HPRC -- Productivity, Performance, and Portability.
He will also make an effort to assess HPRC productivity through a review and taxonomy of High-Level Languages (HLLs) and will demonstrate the performance potential of HPRCs through a multitude of applications. Finally, El Araby will discuss a solution based on virtualizing and sharing the reconfigurable resources.
El-Araby joined Catholic University in 2010 and is founder and director of the Heterogeneous and Biologically-inspired Architectures (HEBA) laboratory at the university. His research has been funded by organizations including DoD, DARPA, NSF, and NASA. More information...
