Staying "On Course" through Learner-Centered Assessment
(Academic)

When we commit to learner-centered assessment, we not only monitor student learning, but also promote learning by encouraging and shaping the type of learning we desire through the types of assessment we use (Huba & Freed, 2000, p. 8). This workshop will help faculty align their instructional practices to allow for meaningful course-embedded assessment of student learning. Faculty will bring their teaching expertise to bear on designing assessments, understanding the data, and creating feedback loops to improve learning for individual students while meeting their program goals.
