Part one of The Laramie Project Cycle.

After the 1998 murder of openly gay college student Matthew Shepard, Moises Kaufman and members of the New York based Tectonic Theater Project traveled to Laramie, Wyoming to search for a deeper meaning behind the tragic event that shocked the nation. Through the use of documentary theater techniques, news reports, and interviews, The Laramie Project was born. A decade later, the troupe returned to create The Laramie Project: 10 Years Later as a companion piece that explores how time changes perspective and shapes narrative.
