  Prisons in Appalachia
(Special Event)

Representatives from the Hospitality House at Alderson Federal Prison, near Alderson, WV, & from the group "Stories from South Central" will speak about the historical connections between West Virginia's criminal justice system & the coal industry, including the effects of the recent chemical spill & water crisis on prisoners at South Central Regional Jail.

Hospitality House hosts loved ones of those incarcerated at Alderson who otherwise might not be able to visit prisoners, while Stories from South Central amplifies the voices of inmates reporting on the inhumane mishandling of the West Virginia chemical spill.
