  Maintain, Don't Gain Kickoff Event

Hokie Wellness and Recreational Sports have teamed up to motivate all Virginia Tech employees and students to "Maintain, Don't Gain" this holiday season. Celebrate a healthier you this holiday season by taking charge of your health and weight.

"Maintain, Don't Gain" is an 8-week lifestyle program and will run November 19 through January 9, 2015. It is designed to offer activities, tips, and prizes to help employees and students maintain their health and weight during the holidays.

The goal is simple: stay at your current weight during the holiday season. The program will include a variety of physical activities, educational sessions, and weekly tips. While events will be held on the Blacksburg campus, the program is free for all employees and students.

Mark your calendar for the Maintain, Don't Gain 2014 Kick-Off week events which will be held on Nov. 17 and on Nov. 20

Kick-Off activities include:

Monday, Nov. 17, 11 a.m. -1 p.m., McComas Hall- the first 20 people to stop by will receive a fun giveaway and all attendees will be entered into a weekly prize raffle.

Personal trainers available for questions
Free BodPod analysis-must register with RecSports
Educational sessions
-12 p.m. - "Healthy Eating for the Holidays" with Amy Epperley

-12:30 p.m. - "How of Happiness" with Katie Gordon
Free week pass to McComas Hall for everyone that attends
If spring semester membership is purchased at the kick-off event, it can be used for the remainder of the fall semester for free.
Thursday, Nov. 20 12-1 p.m., North End Center 2440 - "Financial Planning for the Holidays," led by Alex White, Department of Agriculture and Applied Economics
Register now for the "Maintain, Don't Gain" program to be eligible for the weekly prize drawing and enjoy the holiday season in a healthy way.
