Study Abroad in South Korea - Info Session

Come to 247 Wallace Hall at 5 pm on Dec 3 (Wed), 2014 and learn about the Study Abroad program in South Korea (July 6-31, 2015). Refreshments will be served.
The Department of Apparel, Housing, and Resource Management and the Department of Human Development are offering two courses (or 6 credits), Housing, Family and Community and Adult Life in Korean Society. Life course and cultural perspectives on person' life, housing and communities for demographic changes. The person-environment interaction is an important factor in family's physical, social and emotional well-being, which is a multi-dimentional process that needs to be analyzed from life course perspectives. Students will observe behaviors and assess the built environments with field trip experiences. Field trips include traditional Korean housing sites (e.g., Bukchon) and old neighborhoods (e.g., Insa-dong) in Seoul, popular dating sites (e.g., Namsan tower, Gangnam district), high-tech companies (e.g., Samsung, LG), universal design resource center, intergenerational communities and kitchen/bath design center.
