QPOC@VT Intersectional Identities Speaker, Lena Waithe

Lena Waithe is a writer and producer most recently known for co-producing the critically acclaimed film, Dear White People, and will be speaking about her experiences navigating her personal and professional life as an out, gay, gender nonconforming black woman in the entertainment industry. Lena will engage the Virginia Tech community in nuanced discussion around visibility and the importance of elevating authentic, underrepresented narratives in mainstream media, educating through entertainment, and challenging stereotypes and the status quo.
