Open Education Week: Open house and panel discussion
(Special Event)
Open house: 3:30 - 4 p.m. and 5:30 - 6 p.m.
Panel discussion: 4 - 5:30 p.m.
Hear from your colleagues who are exploring the potential of open educational resources (OERs) for teaching and learning. Several panelists have adopted, adapted, authored, and used openly licensed educational resources in their courses. Listen to their observations, decision making processes, reports of peer and administrative responses, and plans for next steps. Bring your questions and discuss the possibilities for openly licensing resources you've authored or adopting/adapting those shared by others.
Panelists include: Peter Doolittle, Assistant Provost for Teaching & Learning, Professor, School of Education, and Executive Director of CIDER; Greg Hartman, Associate Professor, Mathematics, Virginia Military Institute; Heath Hart, Instructor, Mathematics, Virginia Tech; and Mohammed Seyam, Doctoral Student, Computer Science, Virginia Tech
