Gerard Toal and John O'Loughlin: Geopolitical Gambits and Ordinary Citizens: Attitudes in South East Ukraine and Crimea

Gerard Toal, professor, Government and International Affairs, Virginia Tech, and John O'Loughlin, professor of Geography at the University of Colorado, will discuss the findings of their survey work on evolving and varied attitudes in conflict regions.
The survey -- funded by the Political Science Division of the National Science Foundation -- focuses on South East Ukraine (excluding the war zones of Donetsk and Luhansk) and Crimea, comparing attitudes towards Maidan, Russian actions, MH 17, Novorossiya, political actors, and NATO.
