It's spring break this week, hence it's the perfect time to think about math.

Pi Day is officially 3/14, but since that's a Saturday we've decided to have the celebration on Thursday 3/12 instead. So please join us at noon in the NVC Community Cafe on the 1st floor and bring along something to share. Bonus points for food in the shape of a conic section, but all contributions are welcome.

The theme for this year will be that 2015 is UNESCO's International Year of Light, so feel free to also bring along something interesting and photonic. I have some posters and a nice coffee table book. More information on the IYL can be found at.
