2015 Learning Sciences Research Symposium & Keynote Presentation "Learning Sciences: Research, not Rhetoric"
(Special Event)
Learning Sciences is a rapidly evolving field dedicated to the study of formal and informal learning in many environments, and the use of that knowledge to design innovative learning experiences and products. While classrooms and distance learning programs are obvious beneficiaries of Learning Sciences' research-based principles and practices, researchers also explore and address learning needs in many other settings. For example, the workplace, after-school programs, the Internet, and the greater cultural landscape all provide opportunities for learning. Keynote speaker is Dr. Peter Doolittle, Assistant Provost for Teaching and Learning, Executive Director of the Center for Instructional Development and Educational Research (CIDER), and Professor of Educational Psychology in Learning Sciences and Technologies in the School of Education at Virginia Tech.
