(Greater Washington DC Metro Area)

Amy O'Hara has served as chief, Center for Administrative Records Research and Applications (CARRA), U.S. Census Bureau, since 2014. During her talk, she will provide an overview of administrative records research at the U.S. Census Bureau and describe the agency's legal authority to access data with personal identifiers and the logistical and perceptual challenges the Census Bureau faces in obtaining and linking files.

O'Hara will also present some academic and operational research highlights to illustrate the benefits and limitations of using administrative records and third-party data.
