The Kandinsky Trio presents " Contentment and Tragedy" featuring Mozart's G Major Trio, K. 496 and the Smetana Trio in G Minor, OP. 15. The Mozart speaks to the optimism of the Age of Enlightenment, in contrast to Smentana's masterpiece, composed in 1855 as a tribute to his eldest daughter who had died the previous year. From its heart-wrenching opening to the triumphant finale, the work stands as a stunning testament to music's ability to transform pain into beauty.
