SIREN Seminar: George Vayssier -- Severe Nuclear Accident Management: Improving Operational Guidelines After Fukushima
(Greater Washington DC Metro Area)
George Vayssier, consultant in nuclear safety and founder of Nuclear Safety Consultancy (NSC), Netherlands, has performed Review-of-Accident-Management programs and designed training for nuclear regulators and utilities in Western Europe, Central and Eastern Europe, Canada, Asia, and Latin America.
In his presentation, "Severe Nuclear Accident Management: Improving Operational Guidelines After Fukushima," Vayssier will focus on the post-Fukushima revisions to the Severe Accident Management Guidelines (SAMG), developed after the Three Mile Island (TMI) accident, that are now in place in all reactors in the United States and worldwide.
Vayssier will elaborate on remaining problems and, using specific examples, give recommendations on how to resolve these issues.
Graduate students are encouraged to arrive at 11:30 a.m. to chat with the speaker.
Live streaming of this event is available to registered attendees.
