Civil War Film Series: Free Screening of "The Retrieval" (2013)

Please join the Virginia Center for Civil War Studies for a free screening of "The Retrieval" (2013) at Blacksburg's historic Lyric Theater. The film tells the story of a thirteen-year-old African American boy who is sent by a gang of bounty hunters to lure a former slave out of Union territory. As they travel together through war-torn Virginia, the two form a powerful bond. "The Retrieval" is the winner of nine film festival awards. The Lyric Theater, 135 College Ave., Blacksburg.
