In this workshop, participants will gain a better understanding of the experiences of international students studying in the United States, particularly at Virginia Tech. Cultural adjustment and how cultural practices are understood in different contexts and geographies will be examined. The workshop will also provide insight on how to adopt appropriate skills for optimizing communication with the ultimate goal of creating comfortable spaces for interchange. International students will share their stories and participants will explore different strategies for enhancing relationships with international students.
