In 1944, when she was 24, Recy Taylor was walking home from church when she was kidnapped, blindfolded and raped a gun-point by six white men. The absence of black women from the #MeToo movement has historical roots that predate Taylor's rape. Her story is about thousands of women just like her whose stories we may never know.
