SUMMARY:The Interplay Between T-bet and Bcl-6 in T Helper Cell Differentiation
DESCRIPTION:
Kenneth J. Oestreich, PhD\n
Senior
Postdoctoral Fellow\n
Weinmann Laboratory,
Department of Immunology\n
University of Washington,
Seattle, Washington\n
\n
T helper cells
are critical to coordinate the immune response.
Specialized T helper cell populations arise
from a common naive CD4+ T cell progenitor
and this is dependent upon a group of lineage-specifying
transcription factors. In this
talk, Dr. Oestreich will discuss how the interaction
between two such factors, T-bet and Bcl-6,
regulates flexibility between T helper
cell phenotypes.\n
