Judy Barsalou is a political scientist and Middle East specialist who has served as the Ford Foundation's Regional Representative for the Middle East and North Africa, as Vice President of the Grants and Fellowships Program of the US Institute of Peace, and as President of the El-Hibri Charitable Foundation. Her research has focused on the role of memorials in social reconstruction, the challenges of teaching history in societies emerging from conflict, and trauma and transitional justice, among other topics. She lived and worked in Cairo during the 2011 uprising and holds a Ph.D. from Columbia University. More information...
