Taking Humor Seriously

Laughing and humor are not only stress relievers, they can save your life! Physiologically and psychologically, the person who laughs, lasts. Humor can be a way to defuse stressful situations on the job and in the classroom and deflect inappropriate comments. Jill S. Tietjen, P.E., consulting engineer, past president of the Society of Women Engineers, and former director of the Women in Engineering Program at the University of Colorado, Boulder, will demonstrate how to use this powerful tool to your advantage.
