New Metropolis Lecture Series

William Millar, president of the American Public Transportation Association, will present the final lecture in the 2006-2007 series, The Status and Future of Public Transportation in the U.S. Millar will discuss how public transportation can help expand mobility choices for Americans while reducing their addiction to oil, transit security and the role technology and research play in a successful transportation network, and the future of the industry.
Millar is a strong supporter of transportation research and has received the Founding Fathers Award for his leadership in establishing the Transit Cooperative Research Program (TCRP). He is a frequent speaker and lecturer, has published numerous articles, and has testified frequently before the U.S. Congress and in other public forums.
