Project Esperanza Poetry Reading
(Special Event)
The Virginia Tech English Department will be putting on a poetry reading on Friday, April 13 beginning at 7pm and lasting until about 9pm in the Multipurpose Room of the GLC (right next to Au Bon Pain). It is suggested that guests give a donation to enter, drink coffee, hear a brief presentation about Project Esperanza, and enjoy a night of beautiful poetry! There will also be a silent auction in which we will auction off beautiful Haitian art.
All proceeds will go toward supporting the school Project Esperanza is supporting, which was recently named Grenn de Lespwa, which means "Seed of Hope" in Creole. We are actively fundraising to be able to provide pay for teachers, books for students, other materials, and hopefully a new school building! We hope you can come out to the poetry reading and help us grow this seed of hope that is truly changing lives. More information...
