Mark Evans Bryan's work has been published in the Kenyon Review, The Journal of American Drama and Theater, and the Blackwell Companion to Twentieth-Century American Drama. By trade an historian of performance and of Rural America between Reconstruction and the First World War, Bryan was raised and still lives in the Midwest.
Sue Ott Rowlands, the performer of Bryan's play, is the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences at Virginia Tech. She is an active professional theater artist and has performed her one-woman shows in Taiwan, Hungary, India, Italy, and the U.S.
