Handspinning Class at Smithfield Plantation.

Darcy Whitlock will be teaching the age-old skill of spinning using a hand spindle. Having demonstrated for nine years, Darcy will talk about the history of spinning and use of different fibers, the basics of yarn construction and teach how to spin wool on a hand spindle.

Class fee: $30 includes complete instruction on hand spinning, a spindle to take home, wool for practicing and information about modern spinning groups and activities.
