Join us at this family friendly event, and become more connected to the food you eat. Greenstar Organic Farm is both a local and organic farm that sells produce weekly at the Blacksburg Farmers' Market. Andrew Schenker and Lauren Cooper run this micro-farm at their historic home. This informative session includes a tour of their terraced vegetable and fruit gardens, medicinal herb gardens, free-range chicken coop and yard, barn, and apiary. The farmers will explain what it takes to make a farm 'organic', including composting and pest management. Come learn what organic agriculture is really all about.
