"Technology Development and Transition"
(Seminar/Conference)
Mr. Alan McCall is a business development manager in the national capital region at Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC). SAIC is a FORTUNE 500 scientific, engineering, and technology applications company that uses its deep domain knowledge to solve problems of vital importance to the nation and the world, in national security, energy and the environment, critical infrastructure, and health.
McCall's presentation, Technology Development and Transition, focuses on technology development in small businesses. He will provide an overview of SAIC's Small Business Development Program as well as insights on business approach optimization for technology transition from the perspective of a large-scale integrator and small business advocate. Specifically, he will be discussing lessons learned from his experience in achieving optimal results from the Department of Defense's Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) program.
The Technology Development and Transition briefing is intended to inform Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) researchers and surrounding community small businesses about some best practices for working with large integrators and also working within the constructs of the SBIR program.
