Towars the Creation of a Learner-Centered Syllabus

Syllabi: Everyone has to create them, but no one tells you how. Until now. This interactive colloquium is designed to work with you to create and/or revise a syllabus for your course. We will discuss which components are essential to include in your syllabus, as well as those that are encouraged or optional. Beyond this provision of information, however, we will work with you to construct your syllabus to fit the needs of your department, your students, and you! We will provide you with appropriate language for delineating your goals and grading scheme, as well as policy statements (e.g., disabilities policy, technologies policy, attendance policy and honor code policy) so that your syllabus facilitates course functioning and, ultimately, student learning.
