'International Experiences' Speech Contest
(Special Event)
In celebration of International Education Week (November 16 - 20), Virginia Tech's Gamma Omega chapter of the Phi Beta Delta international honor society will sponsor an 'International Experiences Speech Contest' on Thursday, November 19, at 7 p.m. in the auditorium at Fralin Biotechnology Center. All Virginia Tech students, staff, and faculty are invited to preapre a five-minute speech based on the topic: 'choose one facet of your international experience and describe how it has changed your life.' $50 cash prizes will be awarded to winners in the following categories: international undergraduate student, international graduate student, U.S. undergraduate student, U.S. graduate student, and faculty/staff. Kevin McDonald, Vice President for Equity and Inclusion, will serve as master of ceremonies. Applications will be accepted thorough Monday, November 16. Attendance at the event is open to all, and a reception will be held after the presentations.
