Overview of ePortfolios at Virginia Tech
(Academic)
This overview of ePortfolios at Virginia Tech will provide a description of the Scholar electronic portfolio tools, with a discussion of their purposes grounded in the pedagogical principles of reflection and integrative thinking. Participants will learn about how ePortfolios are being used across the university for multiple purposes, such as facilitating learning, assessment, and professional development. Relevant readings will be provided for further discussion. This session is the first of a three-part series, meant to promote in-depth engagement with portfolios and their use within the classroom and for academic programs. It is recommended that participants attend all three sessions, but they can also be taken as stand-alone workshops.
