(Academic)
Dr. Monica White discusses her research, which investigates communities of color and grassroots organizations that are engaged in the development of sustainable community food systems as a strategy to respond to issues of hunger and food inaccessibility. For those who live in economically depressed communities, this research posits an alternative option to dependence on governmental or humanitarian agencies.
