New York Polophony (University Chamber Music Series)
(Music/Theatre/Dance)
New York Polophony is establishing a reputation as one of the world's finest vocal ensembles. Praised for a "rich, natural sound that's larger and more complex than the sum of its parts," (National Public Radio), the four men of NYP deliver dynamic performances in a wide range of styles. 'Furtive passion' is the common thread for this concert, featuring music written for hidden chapels and discreet locations. The program will include William Byrd's "Mass for Four Voices;" "Song of Songs," an anthology of Hebrew love poems by Renaissance composers; and contemporary works by Grayston Ives. Tickets are available at the Squires ticket office and at the performance hall door one hour prior to the performance on a seats-available basis.
