Gesture and Cognition in Post-Apartheid South Africa: Rethinking the Border Between Speech and Writing.

Beverly is known especially for her book, The Rhetoric of Risk: Technical Documentation in Hazardous Environments. She has contributed widely to the national conversation on risk, specifically on the Minneapolis Bridge Collapse, Columbia Shuttle Accident, Upper Big Branch Mine disaster, and BP/Horizon gulf oil spill.
