Service-Learning Kakuma (SLK) Information Session
Through Service-Learning Kakuma (SLK), two or three VT undergraduates will volunteer in the Kakuma Refugee Camp in northern Kenya for four weeks in May-June, 2013. Students will work with Jesuit Refugee Services, which operates online university courses for camp residents, taught by U.S.-based professors. SLK students will tutor these students, assist with IT, or carry out other projects as appropriate.
SLK offers a unique, demanding, and extremely rewarding opportunity for students willing to live in challenging circumstances, find out more about the world and about themselves, and engage in important volunteer activities.
