T-box and BTB-ZF Factors in Immune Cell Development
(VTC)
Kenneth J. Oestreich, PhD
Senior Postdoctoral Fellow
Weinmann Laboratory, Department of Immunology
University of Washington, Seattle, Washington
The T-box and BTB-ZF factors comprise two lineage-specifying transcription factor families that play required roles in cellular development. Dr. Oestreich's recent work suggests that these two protein families form regulatory switches that control the development of numerous cell types in the immune system. Dr. Oestreich will discuss the direction of his future research aimed at understanding the mechanisms used by these transcription factor families to direct immune cell development.
