LISA SHORT COURSES IN STATISTICS
LISA (Virginia Tech's Laboratory for Interdisciplinary Statistical Analysis) is providing a series of evening short courses to help graduate students use statistics in their research. The focus of these two-hour courses is on teaching practical statistical techniques for analyzing or collecting data. Course Information:
R is a free computing and graphical software/environment for statistical analysis. Part I of this short course consists of 2 sections:

-Section 1 introduces R programming basics, including data objects, loops, and importing/exporting datasets. These concepts will be reinforced using examples of data manipulation and data cleaning.
-Section 2 discusses the R graphics environment and the creation of basic statistical plots as well as paper/presentation quality graphics.
