Talich Quartet, the premiere string quartet of the Czech Republic, winner of several "Grand Prix du Disques awards, and one of the great European quartets, will perform for the first time on Virginia Tech's campus on the evening of February 24th. The program will include a Beethoven quartet plus two quartets by Czech composers: A magnificent quartet by Antonin Dvorak (Op. 61 in C Major), and the dramatic quartet No.1 by Janacek, based on Lev Tolstoy's famous story "Kreutzer Sonata" and really describes musically this strange drama about jealousy and murder.
