  Lecture by Mariana Fix: Financialization of Home and City: From the United States to Brazil  
(Greater Washington DC Metro Area)

Mariana Fix, a professor at the Institute of Economics UNICAMP and author of Partners in Exclusion (2001) and Sao Paulo Global City (2007) will present a guest lecture: "Financialization of Home and City: From the United States to Brazil."

Fix won the 2012 award for best Ph.D. thesis in economics from the Brazilian Coordinating Institute for the Development of Higher-education Professionals. She holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Campinas, and a master's degree in sociology and a B.S. in architecture and urbanism from the University of Sao Paulo.

Currently, Fix is an Urban Studies Foundation Fellow and visiting scholar at the City University of New York (CUNY) Graduate Center.
