  Public Lecture: Katherine M. Charron, "Septima Clark, Citizenship Education, and Women in the Civil Rights Movement"

Dr. Katherine M. Charron will explore the central role that black teachers played in the modern Civil Rights Movement. A dynamic speaker, Dr. Charron is the author of Freedom's Teacher: The Life of Septima Clark (2009) and is currently an Associate Professor of History at the North Carolina State University, where she teaches, U.S., southern, African American, and women's history.
